About Kimberly (Kimmy) Burgess
Hi, I'm Kimmy, the owner of Street Smart Books.
For more than 25 years, I've been the person behind the scenes making sure the details didn't fall through the cracks. I managed bookkeeping, administrative operations, business systems, customer support, and financial organization for businesses I helped build and operate. Along the way, I also managed our household finances, giving me firsthand experience with both business and personal financial organization.
Through those years, I learned something important:
Successful businesses aren't built on bookkeeping alone—they're built on organized systems, dependable support, and someone who keeps everything moving behind the scenes.
My career has included medical office administration, mortgage services, bookkeeping, QuickBooks, customer service, and co-owning and operating online businesses. Each role strengthened my ability to solve problems, create practical systems, and help keep both businesses and finances organized.
I believe most stress doesn't come from a lack of ability—it comes from feeling overwhelmed by everything that has to get done.

After a major life transition later in life, I found myself rebuilding many parts of my own life from the ground up. I had to reorganize, reassess, and create new systems for managing my own finances and future.
